Last weekend, I had the pleasure of finally visiting Mendoza, Argentina. I had been waiting precisely five years to visit the Malbec capital of the world and was pleasantly surprised about the abundance of superior wine and delicious cuisine that was available in Mendoza for an affordable price.
I started off my Saturday with a wine tasting tour that additionally provided for culinary stops as well. The first vineyard that we visited was called Domiciano de Barrancas. Throughout the visit we were led through the wine production process and then to the coveted tasting room. I was able to sample some whites, however, the Malbec reserve label pictured above was absolutely sensational and retailed at under $25 per bottle. Not bad for a high quality reserve label I would say!
